For the past 15 years the Heritage Division of the Plumas National Forest and the Plumas County Museum have teamed up to produce History & Archaeology Night, presenting various topics on the history and archaeology of Plumas County. That will change this year, due to several reasons. Co-presenter Daniel Elliott, District Archaeologist at the Beckwourth Ranger District has accepted a position on the Shasta National Forest and will be leaving Plumas County in March. Our sincere thanks go to Dan for his years of enthusiastic collaboration on History & Archaeology Night, as well as his concern and passion for the preservation of historic sites in Plumas County. We wish Dan and his family the best of everything in their new adventure! The other reason is that Historic Preservation Month was moved from May to October several years ago, so we will try to work with that schedule. Although we will not be presenting History & Archaeology Night as in years' past, we will continue to present public programs and appreciate the support from our audiences these past 15 years.
